Select Data
Data![]() For each monitoring site you can go through the menu steps opposite to select measured data or a range of pre-calculated basic statistics. Make a selection and then click the button below the menus to proceed. You can select individual sites and pollutants, choose "Select All", or hold down the Shif or Ctrl buttons while clicking the mouse to select multiple sites or pollutants. The basic statistics are those which are relevant to each of the pollutant standards in the UK Air Quality Strategy. For automatic monitors basic statistics are, daily mean ,maximum and minimum values, running 8-hour means (carbon monoxide and ozone only), and running 24-hour means (PM10 particulate matter only). Data SelectionPlease Note: The data we publish on this website include air pollution measurements at a range of different locations; some are at the roadside, whilst others are at background locations or in rural areas. There are clearly important exposure issues and potential health effects at roadside sites, as well as at urban background locations. It should be noted that - while the measurements at each site are made on a comparable basis and are factually correct - it would not be scientifically sound to make simplistic conclusions based on them to derive a ranking order indicating which towns are the most polluted in the region. Such simple rankings may be misleading for a number of reasons, including:
